I'd seen it in movies, I'd read it in magazines,
but I never thought that I'd be experienced one - a Palace,
in 2005. The Sofitel Dalat Palace was built in 1920 and had
been renovated in 1997 with very classic outlook and decent
condition indeed. My room was liked 300 sq.ft with a huge
balcony facing the lake. All the interior design and furniture
and fireplace and the bathtub were exactly the same as those
movies of renaissance age. I was delighted to take a bubble
bath in the tub without worrying the hygiene matter because
it was cleaned as new. Before dark the hotel would leave a
rose and a note in your bed to say good night, how sweet.
Paintings of Renoir and Turner were everywhere, dare not to
say they're true or not. Even the business center was decorated
elegantly with a high-speed computer. Published rate is about
US$150++ but consider it's good value for money. Once in a
lifetime it's definitely worthwhile and memorable, especially
for honeymooners. To me, the Sofitel Dalat Palace is a hidden
treasure in the small city with great pride. Certainly it's
not just the landmark of Dalat, but also the reason that people
around.
