Thoughts of the month - August 2006

Best Holiday I Have Ever Had

My solo adventure to Venezuela. Back then it was my very first time traveled alone as a backpacker. The first week I landed on Margarita Islands, the beaches were incredibly beautiful. Met the most handsome guy in my life and we fell in love for a while. Shortly after I moved on to a small fish village named Santa Fe, there I met two German guys and two French ladies all in their mid twenties. We got along so well that we'd spent three days together playing water sports (even I didn't know how to swim :-( While I was too busy running around with my camera captured the stunning sunset, they had captured my movements and joked about it. In the evening we're chatting all night long when laid back in the hammocks, hardly knew each other for 48 hours but we'd gone through meaningful topics such as life and goals.

On the 4th day when we're parted, the German guy helped carrying my backpack as I'd suffered from a severe back pain. There he confessed he actually saw me in another town before we both arrived to Santa Fe. The way he described how he spotted me was quite intriguing. For a moment I thought he'd been stalking me :-) Kidding.......he's fairly decent guy, very sweet and smart in fact. Extremely mature in his age with extraordinary perception of life. Finally we'd reached to the bus station, looking at each other for a minute with silence........then embraced tightly liked we wouldn't let go forever.

Not much had been said or done, but I miss him time after time and always wonder how he's been doing.........

Something About Adoption

Say a couple in a committed relationship, the man is few years younger than the woman, and the woman is in her early forties. Whatever the reason is, the woman doesn't want any kids but the man eagers to have one at the least. So the woman suggested adoption.

My question is, if you were this man, would you accept her suggestion since you love this woman with all your heart? Or if you were this woman, would you compromise to give birth because of this man dearly loves you?I believe the man's desire is to have his own bloodline, as many other men do. The woman's concern is not just about her biological clock ticking, but not willing to bring another innocent life to a world which is so messed up. Adoption therefore seems to be a good choice, if they want a child to complete a family.

In my opinion, a boy aged 3-5 sounds most suitable in this case. Since a boy may become more attached to his Dad, that the man will likely spend more time and take up more responsibility in raising the child.

What My Dream Man Would Be Like

* 5'9 - 5'11 (not the ceiling)
* 145 - 170 (not the heartbeat)
* Often mistaken by the fans of William Hurt / Liam Neeson / Pierre Brosnan
* Dream Maker / Engineer / Litigator / Pioneer
* You possess integrity, honesty, and competency
* Seasoned traveler, your mileage plus over 350000+
* Most of the time laughing, rather than frowning
* You are who you are, know that I'm who I'm, and we love each other in the same manner
* Holding me tight when I cry for no reasons, instead of staring at me seems to be annoyed
* Passionate in God, in love, and in life

The Black Out in Toronto 2003

That afternoon; I was sitting outside the second cup reading a book. Long after the lighting had gone off inside the coffee shop, till the traffic jams laid in front of me on Highway 7; due to malfunction of all the traffic lights, that'd begun to draw my attention. Amazingly I saw all the vehicles crawling but in orderly manner, drivers had tons of patience and discipline when across the intersection. Hardly heard anybody used the horn, hadn't seen any police in an hour, but everything was so under control......

People around started talking on the cell phones, mine was not working. Overheard a bit here and there, yet unable to get the whole picture. Before sunset I took a stroll back to my new apartment, fortunate to have caught the last elevator reached my lower penthouse. Still, didn't have a clue on what'd happened without any radio at home. Finally somebody called, that somebody I once considered a player, but thought of me and cared for my safety........in that particular moment........

Middle East Crisis

If anyone learned enough about the "Hizballah" and the history of Amal Movement, ever since Israel claimed its land back in 1948, conflicts and wars between Arab-Israeli and radical Islam in the Middle East have become OUR global crisis. How could one turn a blind eye on this subject matter?

Remember Dahr Jamail, the independent journalist of US who'd located in Iraq for years, put himself in great danger fighting for the truth? The US teen Robert O'Nell who'd joined the "International Solidarity Movement" in 2001, simply because he put his faith in making peace ahead of his personal safety but had been criticized of being naive. And those different nationalities who died in the name of "Civil Mission for the Protection of the Palestinian People"..........they all deserve our utmost respect indeed.

What I Would Like To Do Before I Die

* Practically, to draft a will
* Romantically, to be dearly love by someone that I'd die in his arms
* Tragically, my ex with a M16 finally tracks me down, breaks in my villa on the beach, searches me by using a flash in the middle of the night, tries to take my life.........
* Dramatically, he changes his mind when he sees his photos all over my place, am welcoming him with a smiling face, show him my diary for the past several years, sing him the song......Oceans apart, day after day, and I slowly go insane.....I hear your voice, on the line, but it doesn't stop the pain......if I see you next to never.......how can we say forever.........wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you......whatever it takes, or how my heart breaks......I will be right here waiting for you.............

* Seriously

Sciences Vs. God

Let's get started with some basic concepts. Gravity only explains the motion of the planets but it can't explains who set the planets in motion. Eventually, Isaac Newton recognized that it's God governs everything and knows all that is or can be done. In Newton's late life, his scientific and religious experiments were one and the same, by observing and understanding how the world has been well functioning. Newton, was the first to find out, the motion of objects on Earth are governed by the same set of natural laws. However, his conceptions of gravity and mechanics, are not as accurate as Einstein's Theory of Relativity or quantum mechanics in recent years. That's the reason why most of the greatest Scientists in centuries had all believed, there's one great Creator who governs the whole Universe far beyond our imaginations.
